Dementia NI deliver unique dementia inclusive events and activities in conjunction with various organisations. These initiatives enable members living with dementia to have fun and show others that they can live well with their diagnosis and that there is support available when it is needed.
This person-centred approach enables people with dementia to live meaningful lives and reach their full potential, while engaging in activities that benefit themselves and others. Develop their skills and knowledge and encourage them to build connections within their community.
Through these initiatives Dementia NI members and others living with dementia support each other and fully engage at all levels. They are enabled to continue to engage with local community and areas of need, consulting with key external partners to improve their services and make them more accessible to people living with dementia.
Studies show that leading a physically active lifestyle can have a significant impact on the wellbeing of people with dementia. Exercise can be beneficial for both physical health and mental health, therefore improving the quality of life for people living with the condition.
Dementia NI also recognises the positive impact that participation in arts activity can have on the wellbeing of those living with dementia.
