Davie McElhinney: "How I learned to come to terms with my diagnosis"

For Davie McElhinney the diagnosis of dementia when he was just 54 seemed incomprehensible. Now, several years on, he is a Member and Trustee of Dementia NI and is involved in raising awareness of the condition.

In the wake of Bruce Willis being diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, Davie, who has the same form of dementia as the actor, talks to the Sunday World about what it's like to live with the condition and how he keeps a positive attitude to life.
